Absolute Collagen’s thickening shampoo and conditioner is the UK’s first collagen complex formulation shampoo and conditioner. It works to nourish, thicken, and volumise thinning hair, while maintaining that all-important lightness.

It works perfectly alongside our daily collagen supplement. The supplement supports your hair with the protein and essential amino acids it needs to grow, then the shampoo and conditioner strengthens and nourishes it inside and out.

The shampoo is 97% natural, while the conditioner is 96% natural. Both products are paraben free, and cruelty free and have been clinically proven by the UK’s top hair experts (see ‘Science’ section above).

Just a small amount of shampoo and conditioner delivers powerful results. Hair is visibly thicker and more volumised.

Anyone with thin, fine hair who would like to increase their hair thickness and volume. It’s suitable for all hair types and can be used on bleached and dyed hair alike. Consumer testing shows that coloured hair doesn’t fade even after 12 weeks of use, so Absoluters can be confident their colour won’t be affected by our products.

As it contains collagen, the shampoo and conditioner are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

You only need to use a small amount of the shampoo and conditioner as they are powerful and effective - we recommend using an amount that’s roughly the size of a 10p coin. 

The collagen in our shampoo and conditioner is a mixture of both bovine and marine. This means the products are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.

Yes, it is 100% recyclable. 

Yes, you can, however we recommend you use the shampoo and conditioner together as they work in conjunction with each other and have been expertly and specifically formulated to work together.

We recommend you wash your hair a minimum of 5 times a week for the optimum results, however we understand this isn’t suitable for all lifestyles. Every other day will also work well, but it may take longer to see results.

Yes. However our formulae is developed for use on fine and thin hair. Other hair types are likely to still see benefits like an improvement to hair health, hair manageability, and frizz control.

Yes!

No. Clarifying shampoo strips the hair right back, and as Absolute Collagen’s shampoo and conditioner contains natural, mild products that are water soluble they will build up but not to the point where they are excessive, so using a clarifying shampoo would remove this built up product and you would need to start again.

No. As you age, your hair needs regular use of a shampoo to maintain its condition. If you change, the benefits you've accumulated from regular use will disappear - plus, these products have been developed to work consistently over long periods of time

Bond builders are for chemically damaged hair. Due to their formulation, they can deposit and weigh down thin or fine hair. We’ve formulated our shampoo and conditioner to boost thickness and volume while leaving hair light and weightless

These products have been expertly formulated for thin, fine hair. The shampoo delivers very mild cleansing with active ingredients, cleansing the hair and scalp and depositing the collagen complex onto the hair. In the conditioner, high levels of actives in the collagen complex penetrate the cortex and wrap the cuticle to thicken and strengthen without weighing down the hair where other thickening products build up and leave fine hair feeling heavy and lank.

Our formulations are mild and can be used on all hair types. However, if you experience irritation, stop using the products immediately and seek advice.

No, as they contain collagen. They are not vegan or vegetarian friendly.

Our products are not tested on animals.

These products work alongside the drink. Absolute Collagen contains all the essential amino acids your hair needs for a good hair growth cycle, whereas these products contain soluble collagen to wrap your hair and protect it, as well as collagen amino acids which penetrate the hair’s cortex to strengthen it from within. They’ve been expertly developed to work alongside the drink to help your hair inside and out. The drink also delivers powerful benefits for skin and nails, which these products will not affect.

We would recommend you leave you on the conditioner for 3-5 minutes after massaging it in, so the formulation can wrap around the hair and nourish the hair.

Our haircare range is manufactured in the UK.

Our products are tested to have a shelf life of more than 30 months and so are not required to have a specified expiry date. We recommend keeping our products away from direct sunlight and any heat sources.

Yes, we use 50% post consumer recycled plastic, which is plastic made from post consumer waste.

Yes, we do. We use a small amount of preservatives to protect the products from bacteria growth which is why we are not 100% natural. We are continually reviewing the preservatives that we use and will always keep these at a minimum.

Yes, the conditioner contains a great silicone called Amodimethicone, which is water-soluble and has good moisturising and cuticle-smoothing effects. It’s also removed with every hair wash due to being water-soluble, so does not build up.

As with sulphates there are a wide range of silicones for hair product use. One such silicone is called Dimethicone, this is the one that can cause problems because it can coat the hair and prevent substances getting in or out. This is why, in the past, 2-in-1 shampoo with high levels of dimethicone could prevent hair colourings and perms from taking properly. Other types of silicones are ones like Cyclopentacyloxane, which are highly volatile which make good vehicles for delivering other material, but leave very little residue on the hair so cause no problems.

Finally, there are great silicones such as Amodimethicone. This is the water-soluble type used in the AC conditioner because it has a nice moisturising and cuticle-smoothing effect on the hair, and because it is water-soluble it is removed every time the hair is washed – unlike water-INSOLUBLE Dimethicone.

Our products contain no SLS & SLES (harsh sulphates) - only an extremely gentle high quality sulphate (TEA-Lauryl Sulphate). The right sulphates are the best way of avoiding problems of scalp imbalance. The most common SLS sulphates can be quite harsh and drying, so we chose a gentle but effective sulphate so that the job of cleaning is done very effectively with no drying to the scalp or hair.

Although allergic reactions are rare, it is possible to be allergic to pretty much anything, including essential oils and other natural ingredients. If you suspect you have a sensitivity, we would strongly recommend that you patch test a small amount of any new product on the inside of your elbow. If you experience any redness or tingling please stop using the product and consult a doctor.
